This could be a function of your hardware platform. We have a 950 and
960 with updated IODC firmware to support CIO SCSI. The boot process
does disable compression and auto-eject on our drives, whether this is
done by IODC or Genesis or START or whatever, they get reset on boot.
This may not be the case with newer hardware. Compression isn't
something that is immediately obvious, but the auto-eject definitely is.
