Just a comment or two based upon the H-1B discussion and ongoing management
gripes about the high cost of technical staff...

Ah but I do NOT think that there is a shortage of "cheap programmers" - I am
sure however that there is a real lack of "cheap" GOOD, SKILLED, EXPERIENCED
"programmers" who can also read, write, and speak English fairly well. If
someone wishes to hire a "cheap" programmer who knows next to nothing and
gets paid accordingly, that's fine by me. It's not my money. I'll be glad
to clean up the mistakes etc afterwards.
A question for those on the HP3000-L list who are NOT US citizens - are you
all paid so poorly where you are that it would make sense to come over here
to the US to get work?
