My thanks to all of you who responded to my original post. I
contacted HP response center about this "bug." I was told that they
adopted the Microsoft standard for referring to Everyone, I guess
implying that this was an intended result, and they would not be
entertaining any suggestions to enhance the product further.
Yeah, I know HP has abandoned OpenDesk, but this client was a good
idea that was poorly executed. One would think that if they had set
out to design and build an interface for their own existing, stable,
mature, proprietary product, they would certainly have included
support for its fundamental features, instead of abopting some
standard from some other company with no connection with OpenDesk.
Even so, they could have included the capability for users to create
and save private distribution lists with +Everyone addresses. Hey,
HP, if you're listening, c'mon it couldn't be that much of a code
change to stop stripping the "*" or "+" somewhere in the mix!!
