David,

Interesting.   Amoung the growing circle of open source DBMS's what
drew you to this one?    The Oracle compatibility?

The website says that:
"SAP DB goes beyond relational database technology by offering object
orientation"
I didn't find any information of the OO aspects in my quick survey of
the web site.

On the lighter side ...  From the "more things change the more they
stay the same" department:

"SAP believes that times have changed, that databases are becoming
part of the basic technology infrastructure, and as such, they need
not be proprietary or complex."
Not complex eh?    "Since mid-1997, SAP has made considerable
investments into SAP DB, which is maintained and continuously enhanced
by a dedicated team of about 100 SAP developers."  If 350 some man
*years*  of work doesn't relate to complexity somewhere I wonder what
software SAP would call complex???
