Mark Bixby ported PostgreSQL to the HP3000 a while ago. You can use the
libraries included in his port to access a remote PostgreSQL database on a
different platform. We wrote some test programs a long time ago in both C and
Cobol that successfully wrote records to a PostgreSQL database on a Linux
server.
