Let me add to that, from WIN95 OSR2 on (including Win98), there is a registry
patch that needs to be applied in order to support clear-text passwords.  Both the
Win95/98 and NT hacks can be found at http://www.sambaix.com in the download
section.  All you have to do is download the appropriate '.reg' file, double click
on it and reboot.
