In some e-mail that I receive, mainly on a different list, and most notably in digest
format, all of the lines end with '=20'. Occasionally there are other character
representations, like '=97'. One person, using AOL 4.0 has this problem regularly (or
I have this problem with mail from him regularly). This particular person composes in
Word Perfect and then copies and pastes into e-mail. Even the intermediate step of
saving the WP file as .txt does not eliminate the '=20' effect.

Another phenomenon: apostrophes/single quotes that come as question marks.

Can someone expound to me how these can be prevented or overridden, as the resulting
messages are very hard to read. I wish there were a toggle f-key like Display
Functions <grin>.

Thanks,
