Interestingly, we sometimes have to run nwfsck (Netware's CHKDSK
equivalent) to straighten out our HP3000's Portable Netware.
Since those are fundamentally MPE files underneath, and since nwfsck
needs to rely on them being present and non-corrupt, it would seem that
the problems arise at a higher level than either the hardware or the
underlying file system.
So you *can* compromise even an HP3000, with iffy software. As for those
machines that donm't even have the protection of an MPE/iX layer......
