Sir,
I did not accuse you of being dumb, stupid or even ignorant. I accused you
of not providing me with enough information about you and your task. Though
I dislike impugning anyone's motives and causing other people grief is
totally abhorrent to me, the security of my employer's systems is part of my
job and I am forced to bring up the questions I did.

I think it is a legitimate concern. This was not a query about a simple
sysadmin task like how do I get a file to print. It was a question about
changing passwords and issues of security. I think we can all see that such
topics are sensitive. If your motives were less than honest I might have
unwittingly given you the ability to hack into my own systems.

Your subsequent answers may or may not satisfy everyone but at least you
gave us something to go on. As I said in the first answer everyone can do
what they want, including you. I would only suggest that if you ever need
this type of assistance again, from another group, that you supply the
pertinent information up front and save everyone from embarrassment. I wish
you all the best in your endeavors.

Welcome to the 3000-L.

Let Peace be the maxim by which we act because we will Peace to become a
universal law.
Work For Peace
The opinions expressed herein are my own and not necessarily those of my
employer.
