turned on and connected and logged on are 3 different things of course.
if you're concerned about all those messages no one's reading, find a
way to log them (R1W.exe with plenty of disk and log-bottom works
great), but it doesn't require a logged on console.  Of course the only
risk of leaving the console logged on is that any passerby can act as
operator.sys or whoever; if that includes messing with other folks'
spoofles, bad, but that same passerby can do plenty of damage with ^B
(or even just a space!) without a logon anyway.

Since my consoles are sitting in a room with a bunch of Windows servers
serviced by people too young to appreciate older computing environments,
I keep them logged off and the keyboards out of reach; if I could remove
the keyboards and keep the terminal happy I would. 

So to participate in the long-uptime bragging rights, how do I see the
last time my system was rebooted?
