I've been in some pretty cold data centers and this has never been a
problem. Can you tell us more about the symptoms you are experiencing?

Subject: [HP3000-L] Cold and Tape Drives

Is it possible of a computer room is too cold will it damage a DLT tape
drive (or any other drive)?

(Or if a tape drive is too close to the output duct of a an air-conditioner
also.)
