Hello all,

RE: Advanced TELNET *not* in 7.5 (was the "real" thing)

In response to:

----------------------------------------------------------------------
...I take notice that advanced telnet again is not Included in the
newest -- and last -- release. ARRGGGHHHH !!!!!.. aw come on...

Hope it goes without saying that this needs to be fixed ASAP... This
also toggled a vague memory that somebody from HP mentioned that the
one person who was most knowledgeable about correctly pulling together
all the pieces of a major MPE release recently retired or was the
"beneficiary" of being "made redundant" by the merger ??.. ().

Above also begs the question: If something as basic as Advanced
TELNET was omitted, what else might be missing ?
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Sorry, but "Advanced TELNET *not* in 7.5" - was *not* an omission, it
was intentional. My organization (WTEC "PRE-MERGER" now HPS-SE)
manages the Beta Test program. The "Advanced TELNET" patches did not
complete the Beta Test prior to the 7.5. build.

As per the 3000-L archives, these patches were offered to customers to
install as Beta Test, but we did not get sufficient takers to support
moving the "Advanced TELNET" feature to General Release in time for
the 7.5 build.

A 7.5 patch build which includes the "Advanced TELNET" is in progress.

I will update this news group when it becomes available.
