Hi All :)
   I saw an interesting headline in the business section of 'The Oregonian' today... (yah I know... it ain't really a newspaper but the comics are decent! Hehehe)

   HP's Stock went down about $9 BILLION in value on first day of trading since Hurd's 'resignation' ...

   Cost of Fraternization? $9 BILLION??? That is a lot of "value" to be cost... what other 'intangible' costs will this do to both HP and the industry?

   This kind of thing ripples throughout business in general... and in our industry especially... How many expense reports that were routine in nature and given a cursory (but sufficient) review are now going to be required to be reviewed 'in depth'? At a cost of how much? A simple process change that adds, say 3 minutes per iteration, and is performed at HP, say 2,500 times a day ... just cost around $150 or so??

                3 minute/"man" * 2500 iterations / 60 minutes/hour /8 hours per "man day" => 8 "man days" or an average of about $150 a day?

   Now, I ain't no MBA... and I don't run a business like M.B. Foster or a whole lot of you on here... but I know this is gonna add cost to everyone... at least for a while... and for those who contract.... I think they will feel it even more in having to more carefully document their 'expense reports/invoices' and that adds overhead :(

   The real losers here... are all of us... not Hurd or the "PTB's" ...

I was shocked when I heard this on the radio as I was driving. Hurd
clearly turned this company around and is good at his job. Unfortunately,
he fraternized with the wrong person/people. We'll probably never know
what really happened. This is a huge loss to HP. It's like losing your
best pitcher...will you be able to replace him and how long will it take?
