Can anyone think of why an INSTALL of 7.5 on a 989 over a scsi-fc brick (003 model) would fail (actually, most of the time it just sits there)?

I've done this several times with no problems but I'm trying to walk someone else through it and I'm dumbfounded.

I've had him boot from and internal drive and he can create LDEVs/Volume sets  on the VA, but no love on the install.

TIA for anything I've overlooked...A140 f/w on the VA, 1GB port speed, private loop...only difference I can see versus past installs is no fiber switch in this mix.
