You could ping google.com from another machine to get the ip.
Then try //nnn.nnn.nnn.nnn/ with your ip.
If that works, then its your name resolving mechanism that's failing.

Subject: [HP3000-L] New HP3000 LYNX Problem
Now that I got LYNX to work, it apparently only works with internal
web-pages. I can go to the Apache web pages for my company's other
HP3000's for example, but I can't get to Google.
I have two suspicions:
1) Is port 80 blocked for this machine?
2) Do I need to point to a DNS server in some config file?
