Do you have a special COPY command in place ?
on my HP-MPE 7.0 system COPY works as supposed to work also for HFS files:
XEBHH2:copy /tmp/test /tmp/test.1
XEBHH2:do
XEBHH2:copy /tmp/test /tmp/test.1
Purge old "/tmp/test.1"?
Expected one of the following replies: "YES, Y, NO, N". (CIWARN 990)
That's what you missed, right ?
I suppose that you probably use MPEX Copy having PERMYES true (or adequate
setting).

Please respond

Hi all,
I was copying some files while in MPE from a POSIX directory/file
to
an MPE file. I was a bit unnerved when I realized that the regular check
by
MPE to see if the receiving file already exists was circumvented...ouch!
Is this the way MPE is supposed to work when accessing a POSIX type
file? I'm aware that in the shell, a copy is not forgiving, but I was
under
the impression the while in MPE, MPE should act as always?
COPY /DEVRNS/DATAWORK/CMF_ITEMS/ITEM-ATTRIBUTES_PRN,TRANSFER
COPY /DEVRNS/DATAWORK/CMF_ITEMS/ITEM-ATTRIBUTES_PRN,TRANSFER
As in the example (cut-paste from live system), MPE just did the copy.
:-(
TIA for your time.
Ray Shahan
