I would take a look at your network adapter's link speed and duplex setting.

If it is set for 'Auto Detect' try setting it to the appropriate value
instead. Auto Detect has been known to cause problems for some adapters. If
a slow PC is set for full or half duplex, verify that this is the same
setting your fast PC uses.
