There is a contributed program called DIGIPAGE. This program works
very well for dialing pagers. You can check certain conditions ie,
does a file exist, did a job blow up, then based on the variables,
activate digipage, and it will send a certain number to your pager,
thus, you knowing what the problem is based on the number coming
across your pager. You may need a special cable for this port.
The modem we use is dedicated for this use only. We have been
using this for about 2 years now, and it has worked great. As a
matter of fact, this procedure elminated the need for a night time
operator. The program is written in Pascal, and originated out
of Boeing Aerospace Electronics. If you can find this program,
it also comes with a doc file, and other instructions.
