Thanks to the HPRC and the helping hands of this list, I am proud to
announce that I finally got our 918 networked. If you recall, this
is a new computer located in another building approximately 100 feet
away from our main office, where the old computer and all the terminals,
PC's, and printers are located. This new computer is on a frame relay
network to an identical machine in Texas. The first part of the network
was to connect the router to the 918, which was completed last week.

This week I added a Lantronix 8-port hub to the 10Base2 cable in the 918.
Using 10BaseT, I ran a cable from the hub to a 50-pair telco cable (which
runs under the driveway between the two buildings, and which I figured
was cat 5 since we're running our 56KB frame relay circuit over it with no
problems). From the other end of the telco cable I connected 10BaseT to
another Lantronix 8-port hub and then 10Base2 to our existing network.

Voila! I can now connect to the 918 from my office across the road!

Now all that's left is to wire the rest of the PC's in, move the DTC's,
wire the terminals and printers in (serial), . . .

Anyway, I figured you might want to hear some good news for a change,
instead of my usual whining and pleading for help! :-)

Thanks to the readers of this list, I can now sign myself
