I've just installed Samba for the first time and I'm attempting to use [homes]
so users can connect to their home groups via "\\hostname\user.account".

Users with an MPE user password of the full 8 characters can connect OK, but
users with shorter MPE user passwords cannot.  There are no account passwords
for these users.  We are just typing in the straight user password without
any delimiters.

Has anybody else seen this?
