As stated a few days ago, I have been moderating postings coming through
the netnews (comp.sys.hp.mpe) gateway.  In addition to 14 postings that
were continuing the off-topic, off-color, crossposted Mac thread, I have
elected not to approve two nearly duplicate job postings for the "suburban
southeastern PA" area which seem to reappear here weekly.
 
A cumulative digest of the rejected postings to date is available to anyone
that feels they missed something as either:

Clearly I'm not too comfortable wielding the sword of censure, and I hope
to return to business as usual (open forum) in the near future.  Apologies
for this waste of bandwidth, but felt it necessary after overstepping my
originally stated bounds; hopefully this ~3kb or so is preferable to the
64kb reject file.
 
To avoid further noise from me and possible aggravation to you, this is the
last post I'll make on the subject until I stop moderating the gateway posts.
The "rejected.txt" file will be periodically updated and will contain all of
the articles I did not approve.  If you have complaints/criticism/problems
with the way this is being handled, please e-mail me DIRECTLY and don't post
it to the list.  At the other extreme of opinion, if you have any "Why did
you approve this garbage?" comments, I'm probably not interested since it
would have gone through anyway in our usual open-forum mode.  I can't
intervene globally (no time!), only on an originating user basis.  In this
case, the news gateway.  I was considering this for the repetitive job posts
previously, and I will entertain comments on that issue (again, privately,
please not on the list).
