Ingenutiy is the mother of invention!!! However, this is definitely NOT
garunteed to work, especially if making the value bigger (as opposed
to smaller). There are some data strctures which are size based on the
max j/s limit at boot up time. If you modify the 'structure' where
the j/s limit is stored, then the :limit code will let you change the
current limit, but all of the appropriate data structures will not
be dynamically resized. To the extent this works in practice it
is more due to "good luck" than anything else.
Which is why SYSGEN is the only 'supported' method.
NOTE: I am not defending the way it works, just clarifying!
