Hi All :)
Ok.... we are seeing a very sporadic problem where a VT Session drops at
the PC end (both Minisoft (all versions) and Reflection) but not on the
3k... the sessions [...]43_18Apr200118:11:[log in to unmask]

Another issue with the Pentium IV is that in order to get maximum speed the
applications have to be compiled for it. Shades of déjà vu. The cooling
issue is certainly a major one and there are some gigantic cooling
mechanisms for these puppies, up to an including a fan exhaust in the case
specifically for the CPU.

The P4's seem to have gotten a bad reputation for things like the
processor's tendency to run at 1/2 speed if you actually try to
use it enough that it warms up a little, and I think I heard that
they were about to drop all the P4 prices by like 50% in order to
try to boost sales.

Absolutely.
