I'm looking for someone who may have experienced this fault (especially if
on a 959 KS/200) and could suggest possible solutions.

Since installing a 959 KS/200 a few weeks ago, I've experienced intermittent
system crashes with FLT B800. The HP Response Centre says that B800 points
to a operating system problem but my 'gut feeling' is that it is a hardware
problem. System DUMPS have not helped pin-point the problem.

With only 1 or 2 users connected on both iX 5.0 and 5.5 (HP Response Centre
urged the move to 5.5), crashes have occurred during the following:

5.0
o doing a keep within SYSGEN,
o storing files using Roadrunner (v 4.6.2),
o restoring files using Roadrunner,
o SA652 when doing a STORE /.

5.5
o doing a LISTF,ACCESS within MPEX (v 25N60119),
o doing a STORE @[log in to unmask]@.

Tthe only one of the above which consistently caused the problem (ie every
time) was on 5.0 storing files with RoadRunner.

On 5.0, after experiencing the fault, doing a START NORECOVERY would fail at
the 'Entering - System I/O configuration' stage of the boot sequence
(pointing to a possible problem with CONFIG.SYS). The system could only be
restarted after doing a 'power off' for a few minutes. On 5.5 after the
fault, the system restarts following a START NORECOVERY without problems.

Hardware configuration is:

959 KS200 with 512 Mbytes memory, DDS2 and CD-ROM installed on single ended
SCSI internal, and 4 x 4Gbyte disks installed internal on fast wide.
Installed in an A3312A expansion box is a second DDS2 connected to the
single ended SCSI, and 2 x 2Gbyte disks connected fast wide.

Help!

/Graeme/
