Although using SYSGEN's AVOL command to add system volumes to the "base"
MPEXL_SYSTEM_VOLUME_SET" can greatly simplify an INSTALL, the difficulty
arises if/when one of the volumes in the "base" set goes awry or becomes
unavailable.
In that situation, one must boot in single-user single-disk mode, SYSGEN
DVOL the afffected volume(s), create the modified SLT and re-INSTALL from it.
In some cases, the benefits of a streamlined INSTALL procedure can be said
to outweigh the added complexity of dealing with abnormal situations.
As someone once said - it all depends.
