Mark,
This is not exactly what you were asking but ....
I have used a keyboard wedge to what you are trying.
Intermec makes a wedge for several scanners, they also make a wedge with
a serial input. Anything received on the serial port is sent to the host
as if it was keyed in.
Symbol makes a wedge that uses R/F to the scanner instead of a cable.
Intermec is working on the same thing, but has yet to announce it.
The only drawback is the cost $300 to $400
Good Luck

Subject: I am trying to use my printer port on my
comminicate with an R/F
I am trying to use my printer port on my terminal to comminicate with an
R/F
Terminal Bar Code reader. This reader is intended to scan the bar coded
serial
numbers on the circuit boards in the equipment we make.
Does anyone know if the printer port on a 700/92 terminal can receive
data, or
can it just send?
I have tried hooking two terminals together and get no response from the
receiving one when I try to send to it.
Thanks for any help
