The HP response center is NOT the correct place to call for this problem --
the "AIF:PE HELLO" routine is VESOFT's routine to trap and verify logons &
passwords without needing the infamous "logon UDC"

Contact VESOFT's technical support, and you'll get an almost-FAQ-response in
regards to this [I used to remember the cause, and it seems it was somewhat
mundane, but it's been awhile and "things can change..."]
