Okay, I'll jump in!
I went to the store mid-day yesterday for some general grocery-type
shopping, and picked up a 12-pack of 'Bud' longnecks. When the clerk
scanned the case, he put in a quantity of '12' and I didn't think
much of it - until the total was well over $100.00 for the few
groceries that I had...
I had been charged for 12 *cases* of beer, totalling over $80.00,
plus $7.20 in bottle deposits! And THEN he didn't know how to do a
<credit> to clear the overcharge, and had to get help! Maybe it
was just a bad day...
Linking this thread to the 'National Software Code' one, I'd like
to see those point-of-sale terminals be a little smarter: '12 cases
of beer -- are you SURE?' Just might prevent a heart attack or two!
