If I could get my grubby little hands on that Stromasys emulator I'd be quiet 
happy to try it and contribute a  "howto"  ;-)     I've successfully connected a 
dumb terminal to a linux guest running in Qemu on Windows host before.

In the meantime I am forced to play with old/boring/real hardware...   "almost" 
booted hp-ux 10.2 on the 9000/800/G50 last night.   Pulled the disk out of a 
9000 visualize box and hooked it up to the g50.   got past the text/data/bss 
size message and then things got weird (2D10L FLT and vfs_mountroot messages).   
put the disk back in the Visualize and it booted just fine, so my hunch is that 
a fresh hp-ux install would bring the g50 back to life.   Why I'm spending so 
much time on this old junk?  I must be bored.  I need that 3000 emulator!

Perhaps.

If you had a DTC connected to your network.

And the dumb terminal was connected to the DTC.

Haven't actually tried it, but should work in theory.
