CSY has just handed off the HP3000 version of the PA-7100 & PA-7150
screening utility to our manufacturing organizations. This utility
is available for customers to obtain & use to determine whether their
HP3000 987/xxx system contains one of the failing chips. Please note:
this flaw only exists in a small number of 987's -- this flaw is not
present on any other HP3000 platform.

This utility needs to be run on a quiet system (no other users,
other than the user running the program, should be logged on). It
takes a few seconds to several minutes to run, depending on the
system's configuration. If the utility does detect that you have
a flawed SPU chip, you will be instructed to contact the Response
Center for corrective actions.

You may contact your local Response Center, and they will help you
obtain this utility. They can arrange for this utility to be mailed
to you (2-3 day turnaround time), or they can arrange for you to
download it from our Patch Machine (designated with Patch ID
MPEHXB9). Customers in the U.S. and Canada can call 800-500-1176
to contact the Response Centers. The Response Centers will make
this utility available to customers, regardless of whether they have
a support contract.

Per requests from this Newsgroup, we are looking into making this
utility available on Jazz -- keep watching here for an update.
