Yes: Consider not using it.
IIRC, it only speeds up a store marginally, at the cost of greatly increasing
your vulnerability to tape errors. On DDS (and, I think), DLT,
if you get a tape error, you can't read the data between the error
and the next EOF. With ;INTERLEAVE, a single tape error could
"lose" many files, not just one.
However, I've just searched my records for performance data and
can't find any :(
IIRC, Holger Wiemann, then at [log in to unmask],
reported the results of extensive timings tests with STORE and
the various options ... but I can't find a copy!
