one question - we have a pc based FTP job that copies files off the

If you don't mind the negative security implications from not knowing
whether or not hackers are trying to break into your system by using
FTP, sure, you can turn off those console messages.

 From FTPDOC.ARPA.SYS: CONSOLE_LOGGING option
---------------------------------------------------------------------

Building the the SETPARMS.ARPA.SYS file w/CONSOLE_LOGGING = OFF as
documented in FTPDOC.ARPA.SYS is 1/2 of the solution and will turn
off the OPEN messages, but will not turn off the CLOSE messages.

On 7.5 you need Beta Test patch:

  SR: 8606-300832
FROM: FTPHD44
FTP Console Msg FTP CLOSE IP=not suppressed w/CONSOLE_LOGGING = OFF

P.S. FTPDOC.ARPA.SYS on your system is your source for documentation
on MPE FTP features that are beyond the RFC functionality (which are
not documented in the FTP reference manuals).
