Good luck. Those are sometimes FICKLE devices.

We had a bank of 72 of the 4.3Gb FW drives in 9 Jamaica cabinets on our
997-400. I DREADED anytime we had to power down the box. EVERY single
time at least one of the drives would fail to initialize or be
recognized. Often just jiggling the drive, pulling it out and plugging
it back in, or some such random nonsense would cause it to fire up
again.

All our drives were Mirror/iX', so usually the volume set came up
anyway, and we had the opportunity to play drive swap games afterward to
get the faulty drives to come back online.

Drives were replaced regularly, and we kept at least one hot spare on
site, but it still became a dreaded ritual ANY time the system was
powered down. In desperation we even went through a firmware upgrade on
every single drive at one point - with an onsite assembly line of HP
CE's pulling drives and swapping the firmware modules on each. It didn't
get better even after that. :-(
