Agreed 100%.

In my previous life at cccd.edu, all of the student records data was stored in
Omnidexed Image masters with integer keys.  Omnidex makes it easy to control
the key values; IIRC, doing an Omnidex DBIPUT with a key value of -1 tells
Omnidex to use the next unused key value instead of the -1 (Omnidex keeps a
table of the unused key values).
