I had to support a serial printer with a dead battery in an earlier life.
Every time the power failed the printer control panel needed the following
settings for a 9600 baud connection:

Function Configuration
Number Number

20 31
21 0
22 51
23 0

Hope this helps!

The consensus is that I need to configure the printer with the right baud
rate to match the DTC config, but I do not have a printer manual that tells
me what config number (20-29) and what value I need to change for 9600 baud
on the printer control panel.
