 Hi Folks

I've just been asked a question, and I realised I don't know the
official answer, O.K. so not unusual :-)

Does anyone on the List know the answer (if there is one)

A customer has an 64 user 9X9 HP3000, running 6.5 and a bunch of
correctly licensed HP subsystems and compilers. Its all on support with
HP and they keep it on support through end of 2006.

In 2007 they purchase a second hand N Class box with 7.0 or 7.5 on it.

Question 1

After 2006 do they have to ensure that the box comes with an MPE/iX
licence, and do they still have to arrange the Transfer of the Licence
via HP to legally use the Box?

Question 2

If the box came without some of the Subsystem software that they had on
the 9X9, can they just transfer the software, or if different versions
are required for 7.0 or 7.5 that the new box is running, can they obtain
these freely from any source they like.

Question 3

After 2006, if you have an HP3000 will you be able to obtain and load
any version of MPE/iX and any Subsystem software, compilers etc, without
any licensing or cost issues.
