System Administrator II - Vyvx Infrastructure – I support critical 24x7
production, test & development infrastructure needs for the Vyvx Division.
Including, but not limited to, hardware and software management and
configuration of HP 9000 D, K, L, & N class servers.  Our environment
consisted of MC/Service Guard HAV and stand alone environments.
Responsible for some administrative tasks on Sun 4500 and 450 servers
running Solaris 2.8 and Veritas Volume Manager.  Responsible for some
administrative tasks on IBM 6M1, 6C1, and H70 servers running AIX 4.3.3 and
AIX 5.1.  Work with project managers to implement enterprise solutions
while meeting fiduciary responsibilities.  Supporting the hardware
encompasses maintaining network connectivity, high availability
environments, and coordinating the installation of new systems.  Operating
System support involves installation of application software, maintaining
system security, and updating the system patch requirements.  While working
for Wiltel Communications, I developed a business continuance plan for
critical UNIX infrastructure in the event of a disaster, and prepared plans
for consolidating our server environments into smaller data foot prints.
