As I understand it, UPS Worldship is built on top of MS Access, but is by
design limited in what it will let you do. I don't know if anyone else here
can perhaps shed more light on your situation, knowing that you are really
dealing with Access under the hood. Perhaps you can, on another system, use
Access to try some other options and at least narrow down if your problem is
really with Access or with the UPS Worldship design. Their tech support can
talk to their developers to get you more of the information you need.
Perhaps, with patience, you can eventually talk with the developers, since
their tech support seems to focus on their interface, and not on related
issues.

Subject: ups worldship -> odbc/se -> image

I'm having loads of fun trying to setup some new UPS WorldShip software. I'm
trying to get it to download shipping information from one of our database
on the 3000 as needed. But it seems like something on the PC is causing
bogus SQL to be generated. I can run the same query against a csv file and
it works but not Image. I'm getting the following in the logs on the 3000

2001/05/03 14:35:32 0075 Allbase Prepare[0]SELECT SHIPTO_NAME, SHIPTO_ADDR2,
SHIPTO_ZIP, SHIPTO_ADDR1, SHIPTO_ADDR3 FROM INVOICE WHERE INVOICE_NO= ?;
2001/05/03 14:35:32 0075 [Allbase]Invalid Table/View/Column in the dynamic
format computation.  (DBERR 2916)

anybody have ideas???

Since I haven't played much with ODBC can you attach an Image database to
multiple DBE's? WorldShip drags down all the table defs every time you start
the keyed access and it's horribly slow. So if I could limit what's visible
to the system it may help.

Thanks,
Lane
