I don't remember exactly (Mark Klien or Bruce Toback probably have a old
1985 book somewhere that has the exact MTBF), but it's in the tens of
thousands of hours (My memory says @30,000 hours). In fact, this was
the hold up on their release, they had to wait 3 1/2 years before one
failed to know what the MTBF was and the new SCSI-2s were build 40 years
ago ;>.
Seriously, though, one of the problems I have is that mine *never* fail, so
I can't justify getting rid of them! My experience with the 793# have been
very good over the last 10+ years (7933 @ 1984?), and I personally have had
more 7933/5s fail vs. the 7936/7s.
My experiences. Sounds like you've had some bad luck.
