We have an interesting problem, and are looking for a solution ..

Users at a customer site are connecting to an HP 987 (MPE/iX 5.0), via
DTC and network connections (using Minisoft). The problem is that
block-mode applications pause for 2-10 seconds at random intervals when
repainting the screens. This happens at all PC's accessing the system
through the network, and on block mode applications only.

It does not happen to the same users when accessing the system from a
terminal connected to the DTC.

HP has logged in several times and have told us:
        - all relavent patches are properly installed
        - no hardware problems on LAN
        - no swapping or CPU limitations (it happens on weekends, also)
        - no NS timing issues
        - no errors in any of the log files
        - No network errors or utilization problems

They are also running Novell 3.12 on their LAN, and the PC's are running the
ODI92.SYS driver supplied by minisoft. The customer also *says* they see
the same problem with Reflections (although we haven't had an opportunity
to see it for ourselves, or make sure that their test PC isn't also running
any leftover minisoft drivers).

The PC's have a variety of ethernet cards, and are running the current version
of Novells Windows client software (as of 3 months ago).

Any ideas??

David
