As Brian mentioned, we've been working on this for a couple months now.
Brian has been assembling the list, and we will be posting it on our www
server (completely uncensored - I don't think it would be of any use
otherwise). We'll also make it available via anonymous ftp, and perhaps
via gopher as well.
 
We're not going to charge anything for the listings, though they won't
be detailed listings; just a short description with the vendor's contact
information (phone/fax/email/snail-mail). We'll try and index things so
they'll be easier to find, though I haven't seen the initial list yet so
I don't know how well it'll lend itself to indexes, at least initially.
Brian has volunteered his time to assemble the list, and we volunteered
to maintain and present it; we too felt it was an idea whose time had
come. (I know I've spent more than a few hours poring through various
vendor listings looking for product/solutions.)
 
We'll let everyone know when we have something ready...
