Try a standard 9/25 with a standard 25/25 Null Modem on the end.

IIRC, the Laserjet wants 2, 3, 7 and 20. (2.3,7 won't suffice). The Null
Modem will swap the 2-3 and 3-2 pins while still leaving the 7 and 20
connected.

Mind you, last time I did this was with an LJII, so it's been a while,
to say nothing of being a different model.....
