I'm sure many of us browse through the list messages and quickly delete the ones
that are not of current concern. I did that yesterday and was glad today that my
e-trash had not been emptied.

Thanks to all of you who posted comments about NETCONTROL, UPDATE. I walked in
this morning and had error messages scrolling on the console.

** NS/3000 INTERNAL ERROR IN DSDAD; Job: 0; Pin: 66; Info: 0
- Error: 44
Miscelleneous : 11
- Socket error : 116; DESTINATION UNREACHABLE

The phones soon started ringing about not being able to connect, via NS/3000, to
our 979. Only those from other buildings were effected. Eventually, I guessed
that the problem was related to some submask configuration (maybe I was even
correct). Anyway, I did not want to take the network down, so issued the
NETCONTROL UPDATE command.

All is well, the sun is shining, birds are singing, and the phone stopped
ringing. Thanks for reminding me of this feature, even before I asked. This
probably saved a call to the Response Center. Who needs coffee for morning
stimulation?
