The manual I've got says that the 5-6 words of the status array will contain
the length of the synonym chain, but words 7-10 will be zeros for master
sets. Where does dbget mode 5 get the previous and next entries in the
synonym chain? Or is dbget ignoring the prev/next record in chain entries
and reading the prev/next synonym chain entries in the header of the record?

Yes, simply follow the chain using DBGET mode 5 on the master.

The algorithm is published in the Image Handbook.

1. Dbget mode8 will return the primary entry for a given argument. Is
there a way to return all the synonym/secondary entries for previously
returned primary?

C. Does anyone have a copy of the hash algorithm that images uses for
masters that they can send me or point me to where it might be located on
the web?

Thanks.
