Actually you can connect a remote DTC to an e3K across a WAN, but it
becomes tricky and expensive. The only HP supported method that I know
about requires Openview DTCMGR at both locations. The remote DTC boots
from that remote Openview PC. Then next to the e3K, you must place a
second DTC (newer generation like 72MX) that will act as a router assist
device. You must configure both DTC's to address each other by IP
address, etc. The more complete explanation is in the Openview manual
