The other good aspect of the EUSR is that you can now do away with elections
and save money there.

And you think they don't get involved with trivial things? Can you define a
banana?

And what's a "Lynden LaRouche"?

"in effect surrendering the UK's sovereignty as the new EUSR (European

That's certainly one way of looking at it; Lynden LaRouche's way, isn't
it?

"I wonder how long it will take Brussels, the de facto capital of the
EUSR, to force UK drivers to switch."

This is not something that has ever been raised in the UK. Or in
Ireland, where I think they also drive on the left.
The last country to switch from left to right was Sweden, (I'm doing
this from memory) and I believe they did it in the 60s, long before they
joined the EU.
They were in an anomalous position because the cars they drove were LHD.

The UK has an installed base of 26 million RHD cars.

To be honest I don't think Brussels will enforce this trivial change on
us; they'll be too busy using the blood of our children to make exotic
breads.

I'm sure that will change in time.

Also, today is a momentous day; Gordon Brown has bypassed whatever
democratic process existed up to now in the UK and has just signed the
Lisbon Treaty, in effect surrendering the UK's sovereignty as the new
EUSR (European Union of Socialist Republics) comes into being. I wonder
how long it will take Brussels, the de facto capital of the EUSR, to
force UK drivers to switch.
