Subject: 120M Tapes In DDS-2 -Reply
Never heard anything of the sort. Besides, if you are using media
approved by the mfr and have a support agreement, who cares?

Me! Me! I do! Backups, love 'em, gotta have 'em.
Haven't seen a support agreement yet that will replace lost data
at 2:47am because you cannot read your backup tape, because
the media/device screwed up on the write and failed to so note.
Matter of fact I haven't seen a support agreement that will replace
lost data at 10:00am either.

I recently had a technical support person from a backup software
company tell me not to use 120M tapes in our DDS-2 drive because
of wear and tear problems caused to the drive by the tapes!?!
Has anyone else heard anything like this?
