it's not outside access to the/a netrc that's as concerning as *insider*
(logged onto the 3000) access!
netrc files should always have their security altered (altsec'd) to prevent
nosey ned's (or nelly's) out of the file. (I prefer
';access=(r,w,a,l,x:cr)')
regarding:

there is indeed a little problem with the ftp job.
following the 'input' line in the job, add the following:
! setvar _fi_file rtrim(_fi_file)
I believe your 'put' line will now be correct.
