Remediated?  I still do not know if I spelled it right (I am the worlds
lousiest speller). This is the term the government is using as a one work
phrase for clean up. One rumor has the plant site being turned into a golf
course. One section of the plant site is called the Sydney Tar
Ponds(considered one on North America's worst toxic sites). It is the
remains of 90 years of coke (as in a process that turns coal into
metallurgical coke) byproducts (PAH's and PCB's). This site has been under a
clean up program that so far spent 50 million with nothing cleaned up yet.
So we have no idea how much money will be needed  to clean up the whole
plant site.
