 I'm getting more comfortable now while trying to install java. I used
to use unix somewhat a long time ago and it's starting to come back. I
realize now that my problem is probably just a path variable being
missing, or set wrong. If I explicitly call things I can get
everything set by hand...

I'm just not sure where, and which path to set. I know I can do this though...

log on as manager.sys
: chgroup hpbin
: sh
$ LS
(I get a list)
$ cd /
$ LS
LS: not found
$ /SYS/HPBIN/LS
(I get a list)

which tells me I need to have a path veriable set to /SYS/HPBIN, Just
not sure if it's a CI path to hpbin.sys or /SYS/HPBIN..Maybe I need to
copy all of those files from /SYS/HPBIN to /bin. I'm not sure which is
more correct. I know that /bin is an empty directory.

 Where, other then here can I find help making sure all my posix stuff
is set up right? Any suggested web reading for posix on mpe 6.0? I'd
like to find out more stuff, like the path thing, logon info, shell
info, for instance is there a logon script similar to a sh.rc or
profile.rc that I can set my path variables and command alises for
each time I envoke the shell?

Any more info would be much appricated...

Thanks,
Gehan G.

Ps. I set all of the links by hand that were posted in my tar log
file. Now when I invoke java I get a lot of "DYNAMIC LOADING
UNRESOLVED EXTERNAL".
